2026 Scholarship Winner: Luke Faramelli

Luke Faramelli of Fremont, Indiana, is a 2026 graduate of Angola High School with a perfect 4.0 GPA. This fall, Luke will begin studying civil engineering at Trine University, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2030. During his time at Angola High School, Luke was a varsity tennis player and an active member of the National Honor Society.

On his scholarship application, Luke wrote that he has “developed very strong critical-thinking skills, leadership skills, and communication skills that I believe will immensely benefit me as a civil engineer. I’ve always been a student that has strived to improve myself and help others, and I believe my education and background will greatly benefit my future career.”

Luke also noted, “As a future civil engineer, I understand that my career will definitely have its challenges. Adhering to deadlines, maintaining strict safety protocols for myself and workers, and working long hours in rough conditions are some of the challenges I expect to face. I have chosen a career in public works because I’ve always loved solving complex challenges and helping others. Civil engineering lets me combine my love for math and science while helping design the world around me by improving its infrastructure.”

Luke’s academic excellence, dedication to service, and commitment to personal growth have already set him apart as a leader among his peers. With his strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and passion for making a positive impact through engineering, he is well-positioned for success at Trine University and beyond. We are confident that Luke will thrive in college and go on to make meaningful contributions to the communities he serves.

Congratulations, Luke, and best wishes for a bright and successful future!
