Kirsten Fowler, a licensed professional engineer, serves as the Executive Director of the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana (APAI). A 2011 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in civil engineering, Kirsten began her career in the asphalt industry with Rieth-Riley Construction, focusing on quality control, before transitioning to transportation design at Shrewsberry & Associates. In 2016, she joined APAI as Technical Director before becoming Executive Director in 2019. Kirsten is dedicated to supporting women in the asphalt industry and was a founding member of the national Women of Asphalt’s Board of Directors. 

In 2022, Kirsten was honored as the APWA Young Leader of the Year by the APWA Indiana Chapter. As a board member for APWA, she aims to boost awareness, engagement, and enthusiasm for the organization. At APAI, she frequently collaborates with contractors, engineering consultants, and public agencies and hopes to encourage greater involvement in both networking and educational events within the local public works chapter in Indiana.
